New Year, New SMILE!
I (much like everyone else) have a very hard time sticking to my New Year's Resolutions, but I come up with them anyways because who doesn't? This year, I told myself that I wanted to make self-care more of a priority, and I'm so glad that I was able to explore some new products by Smile Brilliant! I fell in love with the newest addition to my bedtime routine, whitening my teeth!
The reason why I've been able to stick to this resolution is because using the product is so E-A-S-Y! I'll break it down for you in this post on how it works, it's seriously a game changer, y'all!
1. Smile Brilliant will send you an impression kit - super easy because it takes less than 20 minutes to make molds of your teeth, and BONUS: they include the shipping package with the label and postage, so you literally just have to put your impressions in it, seal it up, and drop it off at the post office!
2. Shortly after, you'll receive your perfectly molded whitening retainers in the mail, 100% ready to go! They're super flexible and feel so comfortable in your mouth that you honestly forget they are even there. I'm not exaggerating!
3. The whitening process is so user friendly, all you have to do is coat the retainers with the whitening gel, place them in your mouth, and move on with your life for the next 45 minutes - 3 hours.
4. If you experience sensitivity, or have in the past, you can coat the retainers with the "Desensitizing" gel (which is also included in the kit) after your whitening session.
5. Once you're done whitening (and possibly Desensitizing), you just brush your teeth like normal, and if you're like me, go to bed!
That's it! Five simple steps and you're looking at your new & improved, beautiful bright WHITE smile!
While I Whiten
When I say easy, I truly mean EASY! As a blogger and social media influencer, I am constantly on the go and need to be ready to take pictures. Having whitened my teeth at night crosses one thing off my list and gives me more time to focus on the rest of the event/day because I don't have to stress over how I look!
Here are just a few examples of things I've done while I whiten: laundry, write, study, binge TV shows, & organize my new apartment!
My Whitening Story
For years I have used the basic whitening strips that we all see at our local grocery stores, but do they really work? They might, but honestly I never had that great of results. I have a smaller sized mouth, so for me the strips would hardly ever stay in place making it awkward and uncomfortable. So I would have to cut them to fit appropriately, but that still never allowed me to achieve the optimal results that were advertised.

Lastly, I just wanted to include some tips for those of you considering this at-home teeth whitening kit!
1. Watch what you eat! When you begin the whitening process, you open the pores on your teeth, and this allows for the product to whiten them. That being said, if you drink coffee and red wine, you may want to avoid it for a bit to avoid re-staining your teeth!
2. Whiten at bedtime!! This helps you avoid eating anything immediately after your whitening session and thus staining the teeth!
3. Store the syringes in the refrigerator! They can last 1 year in room temperature, but 2 years in the fridge!
